Mixed up in small-time crime, Alex (Konstantin Lavronenko) has to get out of the city for a while and lie low – and so he, his wife Vera and their two children head for Alex’s childhood homestead in the tranquil countryside, with shady brother Mark tagging along.
Once there, in self-imposed exile, Alex learns a dark secret: Vera is pregnant, but the baby is not his. The strained couple try to keep up appearances despite the bitter rift growing between them, but that can only last so long.
This is a bold and slow-burning story of betrayal and revenge as a couple’s relationship unravels, plunging them and everyone they know into a nightmare.
